Andy graduated from the CPIT Jazz School in 2010. Since then she has been teaching and gigging in Christchurch and throughout New Zealand. Andy won the Musicworks Drumoff in 2015 and prior to this has recorded on several studio albums. She currently teaches and gigs full time around Christchurch as well as in Jazz and Big Band festivals around NZ with the All Girl Big Band. Andy provides a fun and wholistic approach to learning drums so students can master the fundamentals while developing their creativity and technique as well as exploring different genres and styles.
Jonty O'Connor has over 13 years experience as a drummer.
In that time he has toured the U.S.A, opened for INXS and Slash, recorded and performed all over New Zealand, played alongside some of the countries biggest acts, and worked as a session drummer for Lyttelton Records.
Jonty is known around New Zealand as a diverse player who can shift through a wide range of musical styles. He is highly active in the jazz scene and frequently contributes to original music in the city.
Having moved back to Christchurch, Jonty is excited at the opportunity to teach in a great facility (one that he used to get lessons in!).
Jonty aims to challenge his students and help them improve in anyway he can - he believes music should always be fun, and hopes that whoever he teaches can find enjoyment in playing the drums!
